Release Notes:

The latest version, SeekerWorksSetup2008-1-2.exe includes the following enhancements and fixes (as well as all changes from previous versions):

  1. The SEEKERWORKS HELP SYSTEM has been completely updated. You can now get up-to-date help on any screen by pressing <F1> on that screen.
  2. The EZ Check-IN beta-testing process is now finished. A number of changes and fixes have been applied.
    • If you use a DYMO Label Writer Twin Turbo, you can select which roll has the shipping labels and which roll has the address labels.
    • You can print labels again, even after checking in, just by checking in again.
    • If you select a volunteer role, you are checked in immediately, rather than forcing you to actually click the (Check-IN) button.
    • You can also check in multiple volunteers in the same household at the same time.
    • You can pick a different printer for the "Combined" reports than the "Single" reports. This allows the Single reports to continue to print on a half sheet of paper, while printing the Combined reports on a full sheet of paper.
    • The Check-OUT Combined report now shows up to four children on one sheet (rather than the previous limit of three).
    • The automatic Attendance Type selection logic has been enhanced to generally default to the upcoming (or current) Attendance Type on Check-IN or the previous (or current) Attendance Type on Check-OUT.
    • When setting up a new household, all names marked as "Inactive" are excluded from the EZ Check-IN household (though you can still add them manually with the (...) button).
    • Some printing problems and abends have been fixed. This process is now quite error free and fast!
  3. NEW: The "Update A Name/Address" screen fills the First Attended Year/Month with the current Year/Month (if they are left blank) when a new name is added to the database.
  4. NEW: The Facility screen now shows the dates/attendance types of the room's schedule.
  5. FIX: If someone is removed from a Ministry Team and/or Ministry Position, the Team Schedules are updated to remove them from the schedule(s).
  6. FIX: The Assimilation screen no longer shows a window with "NNY" (or something similar, which was used for testing but not removed prior to publishing the previous version of SeekerWorks™.
  7. FIX: When an address is put into the first set of address fields, but the "This is the mailing address" box is checked on the second set of address fields, which have been left blank, the box is now unchecked automatically and the first set of address fields is used as the mailing address. This resolves an issue where a person shows up in the list, but their address is shown as ",,".
  8. FIX: When erasing an address on the "List of Addresses" screen, logic has been added to prevent this if the address is also used on a Giving Unit. This solves an issue with addresses disappearing on Giving Units.
  9. FIX: The email functions should now work if the Email Address field contains multiple email addresses separated by a semi-colon and a space.
  10. FIX: The Backup/Restore function was losing a small amount of data during the restore. This has been corrected.
  11. Some screen titles and labels have been adjusted to (hopefully) clarify their purposes.

SeekerWorksSetup2008-1-1.exe included the following enhancements and fixes:

  1. NEW: Change EZ Check-IN process- Now, instead of receiving the "This person is already included to be checked-in/checked-out." error when you click the (...) button to select a new person who can do the check-in/check-out, or the "This person is already allowed to check-in/check-out." error when you click the (...) button to select a new person to be checked-in/checked-out, now you can swap from the side they're on to the other side by clicking (Yes) to the question "'First Last_name' is in the 'To Be Checked-IN' section. Do you want to remove them from the 'To Be Checked-IN' section and add them to the 'Authorized' section?"
  2. NEW: Change EZ Check-IN process- A new (Combine...) button is now available to combine one family's settings with another family's settings. This allows both families to check-IN or check-OUT kids from either family.
  3. NEW: Change EZ Check-IN process- Now you can change settings for a family and click the (Check-IN) button without actually picking anyone to check-in. This is helpful when swapping a volunteer from one side to the other. However, if no settings changes are found, you'll still get an error telling you you'll need to pick a child for check-IN before you can continue.
  4. NEW: Change EZ Check-IN process- A new report is now available to combine up to 3 children on one report if they are all in the same building/room combination. This is intended to save paper.
  5. NEW: The (Follow Up...) button is now available on the "Pastoral Care Entry" screen. With it, you can create any Follow Up (Tickler) for the person linked to the Pastoral Care event.
  6. NEW: The (Forward To) button is now available on the "Review Message" screen to send the message with comments to another user of SeekerWorks™.
  7. NEW: A (Take Picture) button is now available on any screen that shows a picture, vs. just the (Load Picture) button, which is still available.
  8. NEW: The [File] Menu now contains the [Select Camera] option to select a camera when multiple cameras are available on the same computer.
  9. FIX: Change EZ Check-IN process- The pictures now refresh when you click the (Take Picture) button.
  10. FIX: Change EZ Check-IN process- The *dynamic* criteria now works correctly based upon the "months old" setting.
  11. FIX: The EZ Check-IN process now correctly defaults the attendance type based upon the current time on the computer. If the current time is up to twenty minutes prior to when the attendance type begins or up to twenty minutes after the attendance type ends, that attendance type is selected automatically.
  12. FIX: The EZ Check-IN roster report now shows the correct totals.
  13. FIX: Errors no longer occur when you click the (Email Prayer Requests List...) button on the "List of Active Prayer Requests" screen. It now emails them to the prayer request Distribution List, as defined on the {SMTP Settings} tab of the "Choose Options" screen.
  14. FIX: Errors were occurring when trying to update the sample database on a Windows Vista machine. This problem has been resolved as well as a new version of SeekerWorks™ is installed on a Windows Vista machine.
  15. FIX: Program error "Alias 'AC_Totals' is not found, line 32, PASTORF1.cmdErase.Click" no longer occurs. The pastoral care events are now erased when requested.
  16. FIX: The new (Restore) function now works with the run-time version of Visual FoxPro 9.0. The COMPILE statement was added to create an executable version of the SQL signatures needed for a successful restore.

SeekerWorksSetup2007-4-4.exe included the following enhancements and fixes:

  1. NEW: A new (Backup/Restore) function is now available under the "Tables/Utilities" section. You can now define how often you want to be prompted for a backup as well (number of days to wait until the next backup). The default is every day when you (Quit) SeekerWorks™, but only after you define where you want to store your backups.
  2. NEW: The Pastoral Care function now limits a user to his/her pastoral care entries only, unless additional security is defined to allow a user to see other users' pastoral care entries.
  3. NEW: The Prayer Requests report now has an option to choose only those in the date range you want (although the default is a date range that includes every prayer request).
  4. NEW: The EZ Check-IN process now includes a (backspace) button on-screen when using a touch-screen with a phone number check-in.
  5. NEW: The EZ Check-IN process now uses a default area code when checking in with a phone number.
  6. NEW: The EZ Check-IN process now show volunteer check-in information in a different color (tan) if a volunteer is already checked in.
  7. FIX: The Assimilation screen now checks for duplicate forms (date/name-id combination).
  8. FIX: The Assimilation screen now updates all Follow Ups (Ticklers) if you change the date or name-id of the assimilation form.
  9. FIX: The EZ Check-IN process now prints on the correct printers. There was an issue with Name Tags vs. Name Labels on the DYMO LableWriter Twin Turbo printer.
  10. FIX: The Member List report now shows the "Member Since" date instead of the work phone number.
  11. FIX: The Attendance (Erase) function now deletes information by name also.
  12. FIX: The country code selection for address 2 no longer receives a program error on the "Update A Name/Address" screen.
  13. FIX: The program error when using a mouse wheel on the edit box section of the Follow Up (Tickler) Review screen no longer occurs.
  14. FIX: The list boxes no longer show only part of the list, or intermittent data, or only a portion of the list scroll while the other portions don't when repainting the screen after using the Mouse wheel.

SeekerWorksSetup2007-4-3.exe included the following enhancements and fixes:

  1. FIX: The Gifts function no longer loses the Gift Category when you click (Save). If you upgraded to 2007-4-2, you will need to reattach the missing Gift Category to each gift recorded with that version. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
  2. The Names/Addresses function no longer loses the Last Name when you click the (New) button.
  3. If someone was using the 30-day trial version, upgrading to version 2007-4-3 or newer will automatically reset the trial period back to another 30 days. This should give you plenty of time to test the new features and corrections and assure you of the reliability of SeekerWorks™.
  4. FIX: The "Pledges By Month" report was experiencing the error "Unable to find Pledge_Controls.dbf file." This has been corrected.
  5. All Help Topic ID's have been updated in anticipation of the Help Text updates under way (coming soon).
  6. FIX: The Windows Vista problem with selecting the Text File Export folder during the "Finishing Installation" step has been corrected.
  7. FIX: The Windows Vista problems trying to use the SampleData Database files have been corrected. This also resolves some intermittent problems with 'FoxUser.*' files, which are no longer used.

SeekerWorksSetup2007-4-2.exe included the following enhancements and fixes:

  1. The (Assimilation/Follow Up (Tickler) Map...) function within the "Follow Up Paths" function has been enhanced for our friends in New Zealand to give you full control over everything on your Assimilation form. The number of boxes you can check for "Information On..." and "Serving In..." information has been expanded from 11 to 16 choices, with support for a separate Follow Up Path for each option. Also, instead of seeing only two questions for "I want to learn more about this church" and "I want to learn more about what it means to be a Christ follower", you now have the option of up to 15 questions with corresponding Follow Up Paths for each question. Lastly, you can modify the default "Age Labels" to better match your organization, such as using "Junior High" instead of "Middle School".
  2. The "Assimilation" screen and report now show all of the questions/options you specify on the Assimilation/Follow Up (Tickler) Map screen (see #1 above). You can also indicate the Attendance Type for the service the person attended, as well as clicking the new (Household) button when adding a whole family vs. just the person filling out the Assimilation form. Lastly, the "Work Phone" field has been replaced with the "Cell Phone" field.
  3. A new (Exchange Rates) button is now available on the main menu under the "Tables/Utilities" heading for our friends in Germany. This provides a way for you to put in daily exchange rates between your Giving Unit's favorite currencies (e.g., CAD - Canadian Dollars, EUR - Euros, GBP - British Pound Sterling) and your base currency (i.e., the currency you normally use in your organization, such as USD - US Dollars). There are 166 different currencies available for use in SeekerWorks™. This function also provides average exchange rates for those currencies.
  4. The "Gifts" function now has an (Exchange Rates) button on it (see #3 above). Also, you can record gifts in a "batch" for any currency you wish as long as an exchange rate has been defined from that currency type to your base currency type. You'll notice a new column that shows the equivalent value of a gift in your base currency whenever you use multiple currencies. The Gift Amount multiplied by the exchange rate yields your Base Currency Amount.
  5. The "Pledges" function now has an (Exchange Rates) button on it (see #3 above). Your Giving Units can pledge in any currency desired, as long as an average exchange rate has been defined from that currency type to your base currency type. However, you'll notice the equivalent value of the pledge in your base currency is accumulated into the Pledge Control Total.
  6. The "Chart/Graph Analysis" and the "Gift Analysis" functions use base currency only.
  7. The "Totals By Category" and "Totals By Giving Unit" functions show information in the currency type you choose and their equivalent base currency amounts.
  8. The "Gift/Pledge Reports" function shows information in the currency of the gifts or pledges and their equivalent base currency amounts.
  9. The "Personal Profile" report now shows the correct picture for the person on the report.
  10. A Small Group Attendance problem has been corrected related to using a specific value in the name field of a class/seminar.

SeekerWorksSetup2007-4-1.exe included the following enhancements and fixes:

  1. A new (Email Prayer Requests List...) button is now available on the "List Of Prayer Requests" screen. All active prayer requests (except those marked as "confidential" will be emailed to each person included in the Distribution List linked to the "Prayer Distribution List" field on the {SMTP Settings} tab of the "Choose Options" screen. This function uses the SMTP Email Engine released in version 2007-3-1 and assumes you have an email server with valid settings specified on the same tab mentioned above.
  2. A new "Base Currency" field is now available on the {Formats- Phone Numbers/Addresses} tab of the "Choose Options" screen, where you can choose the currency of your organization. The default is "USD" (US Dollar). This allows the development of multi-currency giving records for our friends outside of the United States (available in an upcoming release).
  3. A new "Fiscal Year Begins:" field is now available on the {Formats- Phone Numbers/Addresses} tab of the "Choose Options" screen, where you can select the month your fiscal year begins (if it's different from the beginning of the calendar year). The default is the beginning of January.
  4. The "Gift Analysis" screen now uses the "Fiscal Year Begins" field (#3 above) to determine the total giving for the Fiscal Year-To-Date, as well as the average giving for the Fiscal Year-To-Date. Also available is the same information for Calendar Year-To-Date.
  5. The "Pictures By Family (half page)" report now shows cell phone and email address for every name linked to the household. You can also select which households you want to print (same options as the 1/8th page version). It also prints in booklet form now, assuming a saddle-stitch staple in the middle of the page fold.
  6. The "Pictures By Family (1/8th page)" report now shows cell phone numbers for the person(s) linked to the household with their "Household Label" box checked.
  7. SeekerWorks™ now replicates a name change whenever a person's name changes. If you change a name on a "Household" or "Organization" Giving Unit, it updates the "Names/Addresses" information and vice versa. This also corrects some issues where the names don't seem to sort properly after a name change within a group of names, such as small group members, class/seminar rosters, volunteers, etc. However, you should clear the labels, email and mail merge files and reload them if you want a name change to appear there also.
  8. FIX: The booklet print option of the Pictures By Family reports were calculating the wrong number of pages and printing more blank space than they should have. They now print correctly.
  9. FIX: The "Small Group Summary" report was not showing small groups with leaders but no non-leader members. This problem has been corrected.
  10. FIX: The abend error occurring with the Small Group Attendance reports has been corrected.
  11. FIX: The "Spiritual Gifts Profile For: xxxxxxxx" screen worked fine for each type of spiritual gifts curriculum except "OTHER". Now, any gifts and scores you type in while using "OTHER" as the curriculum no longer disappear when you click the (Done) button.

SeekerWorksSetup2007-3-1.exe included the following enhancements and fixes:

  1. IMPORTANT: The first and last name fields at the bottom of the Giving Unit screen have been reversed! They used to be backwards (first then last) when compared with other screens where the fields were always last name, then first name. Remember to mention this to whoever records your giving information so they don't key the names in backwards.
  2. This version of SeekerWorks™ upgrades to Microsoft® Visual FoxPro® version 9.0, which is the only version of Visual FoxPro® supported by Microsoft® for Windows Vista computers. A number of changes have been made to SeekerWorks™ to improve your experience with this version of Visual FoxPro®, which includes selecting everything in a field when you click into it from another field, and mouse wheel support on list boxes and grids.
  3. A full set of "Mail Merge" functions have been added. It creates a merge file you can incorporate into your Microsoft® Word® documents.
  4. On the "Names/Addresses" screen, {Church} tab, a new date field "Received Christ" has been added.
  5. Whenever a new name is added to the database, a "Duplicate Name Check" screen now appears when a person with the same name exists in the database. If the name you want to add is already in the list, simply click the name already in the list instead of adding the name again.
  6. On the "Assimilation" screen, the Email Address field has been added.
  7. The EZ Check-IN process now has the added feature of only printing a Check-IN report when the child has special text to print (i.e., restrictions on who can pick up the child, medical instructions and/or special instructions).
  8. The EZ Check-IN and scheduling reports no longer show the unique team number in parentheses next to the team name. This should reduce confusion as to what the number is for.
  9. The "Email Follow Ups" function has been improved with the use of an SMTP Email Engine under license from Marshallsoft Computing. This function no longer tries to use Microsoft® Outlook® to send follow ups.
  10. A new (Email Reminders To Scheduled Volunteers...) button has been added to the "List Of Ministries" screen. When clicked, the "Email Reminders To Scheduled Volunteers" screen appears, where you can send an email to everyone scheduled to volunteer over the next seven days, or you can select the Ministry Team and/or Attendance Type for the emails. You can also modify the "Email Content" by adding your own text and/or changing the default text for the reminders. A number of "Email Merge" fields are included in this feature so you can automatically include the name of your organization, attendance type name, service start time, ministry name, etc. A list of email addresses appears to show you who got the email.
  11. A new Pastoral Care report is now available.
  12. A Data Warehouse Export for Pastoral Care information is now available.
  13. You can now create mailing labels, email or mail merge based upon everyone who attended a particular service (based upon attendance type).
  14. When creating a new attendance type, the default has been changed to keep attendance by person for the new attendance type vs. just attendance totals.
  15. The Small Group Attendance reports can now filter by Coach in addition to Division and/or Small Group.
  16. The "Attendance For: <person>" screen now has filter options available to limit the display to one Attendance Type, one Class/Seminar, and/or one Small Group.
  17. The "Gift Analysis" screen now includes the ability to show 12-month totals and 12-month averages.
  18. The Picture Directory reports can now filter who you want to include in the directory.
  19. A number of cosmetic changes are included in this version, such as sorting the pop-up list of names by first name and/or postal code, keeping the scheduled list position when you click (Save), changing all related records when changing Ministry Group information, changing all related records when changing security for a user-ID, etc.
  20. A number of bugs have been fixed in this version, such as the abend when you first access the "Gifts" screen, when you try to erase scheduling information, and when you have more than 100 students in the same class/seminar (it can now accommodate up to 5000 students).

SeekerWorksSetup2007-2-2.exe included the following enhancements and fixes:

  1. A warning has been added to the (Gifts) screen. If you click (Cancel) or the (X) box in the upper right corner of the window without saving your giving information, you will get the following message: WARNING: You haven't saved your changes yet. Do you want to leave this screen without saving your changes? Click (No), then (Save) to save your changes.
  2. You can now fill the city/state/country fields by keying in a postal code. It will fill in the city name and state from the list you pre-defined in the Auto Fill table and fill the country field with the default country code from the (Options) screen.
  3. If you click the (...) button to select an address from the list of addresses on file, you now have the option to filter the list by whatever value you type in the "Search For:" field (such as "Sunset" to find Sunset Blvd., Sunset Pkwy, Sunset Ct., etc.)
  4. International address capabilities have been enhanced. If you select a country code different from the default country code from the (Options) screen, all phone number fields ignore format definitions (i.e., (nnn) nnn-nnnn) and allow up to 14 characters. The postal code field ignores the format definition also (i.e., nnnnn-nnnn) and allows up to 10 characters.
  5. The (Show Map) buttons now use maps.google.com instead of maps.yahoo.com, since there is better results with international addresses in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Great Britain, etc. In addition, while some of you used to use maps.yahoo.com to find the ZIP+4 value, which it appears they've stopped supplying, we're working on address validation over the internet with the US Postal Service instead (hopefully available soon).
  6. The font on the Assimilation screen has been reduced to 8-point (instead of 9-point) in order to show longer Assimilation Category names for those of you who want to define your own through the (Follow Up Paths) function.
  7. All of the attendance reports have a 13-week version now, which include birth dates and phone numbers.
  8. The (Ministry Group) option of the (Email) function can now create an email with the email address(es) of the person's parents (assuming the parents have email addresses linked to them).
  9. The status bar at the bottom of the main SeekerWorks™ screen has been removed. Now, if you minimize any windows, they will appear above the Windows task bar and below the bottom of the main SeekerWorks™ screen, where you can restore them back to their normal size.
  10. The warning that was supposed to pop up in the previous version now really does pop up if a person is being linked to more than one small group within the same small group division. This eliminates the program error when adding to a small group.
  11. The (Attendance) function logic was somehow broken in the previous release. When you clicked the (Save) button, then the (Cancel) button, the attendance totals would not appear on the "List of Attendance Totals" screen as it should. If you experienced this, please call (866) SEEKER3 to receive assistance adding the missing record(s)-- the detail data was saved correctly, just not the total.
  12. The "Buy Now" link to our web site from the Activation screen now works and no longer causes a program error when you click it.

SeekerWorksSetup2007-2-1.exe included the following enhancements and fixes:

  1. A new function called "EZ Check-IN" has been integrated within SeekerWorks™ to automate the check-in/check-out process for your kids' ministries. This includes being able to use an RFID (radio-frequency identification) reader for a proximity card or key fob, a touch-screen instead of keyboard/mouse, and DYMO printer for name tags and labels. You can also print check-in/check-out reports (if you want) with extra information for the appropriate teacher, showing restriction information (who is authorized to pick up the child), medical information (such as allergies) and special need information.
  2. A new button is available through the (Volunteers/Ministries) function for (Team Schedules), which also integrates with EZ Check-IN.
  3. A function under Tables/Utilities is available called (Facility Information) to record your building(s) and rooms for use with Team Schedules and EZ Check-IN.
  4. The Update A Name/Address screen has many new buttons to show information about the person. If the person has certain information, the button(s) on the right side of the screen will change color to indicate this information exists.
  5. The GRADU8P3 batch program continues to promote or graduate names automatically as appropriate.
  6. A new function for tracking "Prospects" of your ministry is now available. Keep track of people on your prayer list before they ever set foot in your building.
  7. A new "Giving Summary By Category/Giving Unit" report is now available to see totals without each detailed gift.
  8. A warning now pops up if a person is being linked to more than one small group within the same small group division.
  9. You can now link a person with a title (such as Mr., Mrs., Miss, Ms., Dr., Rev., The Honorable, etc.) and print labels with that title.
  10. The (Load People Labels) function now includes check-boxes to indicate whether you want to include inactive names, visitors, and/or put titles on the labels.
  11. There are three new reports that complement the EZ Check-IN process. They all begin with "EZ Check-IN" in the list of (Reports).
  12. There are three new reports that complement the Team Schedules function. They all begin with "Volunteers Scheduled" in the list of (Reports).
  13. A new "Phone Book (Two column layout)" report is now available to show family information, including birth dates, cell phone numbers, etc.

  1. The Assimilation categories are now modifiable-- you can call them what you want or create new ones on the {Rename Assimilation Categories} tab of the "Assimilation/Follow Up (Tickler) Map" screen (click the "Follow Up Paths" menu option, then click the (Assimilation/Follow Up (Tickler) Map...) button). However, there is still a limit of 10 categories.
  2. The "Names NOT In A Small Group By Postal Code" report now has page breaks for each unique Postal Code value.
  3. A new version of the "Small Group Attendance" report is now available with page breaks for each small group (select the "Small Group Attendance with Page Breaks" report instead).
  4. The "Volunteers/Ministries" function now has the option to group Volunteers tied to Ministry Positions on separate teams within a ministry (stay tuned for our automated attendance function currently under development!).
  5. The "Attendance Type" screen now has options to associate the day of the week, starting and ending times to an Attendance Type. This is also necessary for the automated attendance function.

SeekerWorksSetup2006-4-1.exe included the following enhancements and fixes:

  1. Eleven new exports are now available as the first installment of a "data warehouse", which you can use to create your own reports using whatever tool you want to use, such as Microsoft® Excel®, Access®, etc. The subject areas include Names/ Addresses, Attendance By Person, Attendance Totals, Classes/Seminars, Class Students w/Attendance, Gifts, Giving Units, Pledges, Small Groups, Small Group Members w/Attendance, and Volunteers w/Spiritual Gift Information.
  2. A new import is now available to load detail gifts and giving units from a comma separated value file. A related function is included to reformat a spreadsheet into the format expected for loading.
  3. All reports, when viewed on the screen, now automatically maximize to the size of the screen. If no data is found for the report, a pop-up window now notifies you of that situation. Also, if you click the printer icon when viewing a report, you will now see a pop-up screen asking you which printer you want to print the report to.
  4. The "Address Counts By Postal Code" report now has an option to show detail, which means each address in that postal code and each name linked to that address (if any).
  5. The attendance reports (Attendance By Person, Class/Seminar Attendance and Small Group Attendance) now have an option to only show absentees based upon the number of consecutive weeks missed setting on the Attendance Type, Class/Seminar, or Small Group Division record.
  6. Two new reports are available to show "Names NOT in a Small Group...", sorted either by Last Name or by Postal Code.
  7. The transactional update logic has been enhanced to include pictures. In previous versions, these files have been excluded due to their size. However, the decision was made to include them in this version.
  8. New fields have been added to virtually every file to tighten up the transactional update logic. While these changes will be finished in the next release, you may notice a slight delay when you start this version of SeekerWorks™ for the first time while the program adds all of these fields. Just be patient and wait a few seconds for the logon screen to appear.
  9. A problem on the Labels screen inadvertently excluded the last household in the list when trying to select each label one-by-one. This problem has been fixed.

SeekerWorksSetup2006-3-1.exe included the following enhancements and fixes:

  1. A new button for loading labels has been added. You will now see (Load People Labels...) and (Load Giving Units...) buttons. This doesn't mean to imply Giving Units are not people of course, but, since a Giving Unit doesn't have to be in the (Names/Addresses) list, it's difficult to print labels without this feature. So, without further ado, enjoy your new giving unit labels!
  2. The spiritual gifts screens have been consolidated into one enhanced screen. Gifts lists for NetWork (curriculum from Willow Creek), echurchessentials.com and the list of talents from Saddleback Community Church have been added, as well as the ability to record your own "free-form" gifts using the "Other" option.
  3. The spiritual gifts search function has been tweaked to more accurately sort the names based upon your search criteria.
  4. A new data import is available for e-gifts, leadership style and e-personality information from the assessme.org web site (a division of E-Church Essentials).
  5. You can now add a new name or update information about an existing name through the screen that pops up when you want to link a person to something, such as a small group, or volunteer position. Just click the (...) button to the right of the search field, then click the (Add) button, or find the name you want and click the (Update) button. No longer do you need to get out of the function you're in and go to the (Names/Addresses) function to add or update a name.
  6. All screens that can add or update an address now have a "Country" pick list available, just in case the person has an address outside your country. If you leave the field blank, it will default to the country defined on the (Options) screen. If it's different from that, the rules for State/Province, Postal Code and Phone numbers no longer apply, allowing you to format those values however you'd like, up to the maximum number of characters available for those fields (3, 10, and 14 respectively).
  7. Attendance for a small group has been expanded to accommodate up to 5000 names. The previous 100 name maximum was not enough in some cases.
  8. The Attendance by Person feature has been modified to allow you to define which Ministry Groups you want to limit the attendance to. It defaults to all ministry groups, but if you only want to keep attendance by person for your Children's Ministries (for example), you can now indicate this on the screen to add or change an Attendance Type. Just uncheck those you don't want.
  9. The (Gifts) function will now WARN you if you key in the same check number for the same giving unit. It will suggest you use the "Split" function instead of keying the information on two separate lines.
  10. The Small Groups sign-in sheets now have the option to show birth dates, if you click the check box indicating you want them on the report.
  11. Some of the buttons now have "tool-tip" text that appears when you hover over a button, just in case you're not sure what to do.
  12. Numerous problems have been fixed in this release, including problems with the Household report and the Pictures By Family reports. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you experienced because of these problems. If this has caused you not to buy a license, please give us another chance to impress you-- we will give you instructions on how to restart your trial period for another 30 days if you simply contact Wennblom Solutions, Inc.

SeekerWorksSetup2006-2-2.exe included the following enhancements and fixes:

  1. A new (Pastoral Care) function is now available to track counseling sessions, visitation, phone calls or other forms of pastoral care follow up for each person.
  2. The (Names/Addresses) function now has buttons to link you to any (Assimilation...) forms the person may have filled out in the past, (Classes...) the person is registered for or has taken, (Pastoral...) care entries, if any, in addition to the previous buttons already available (Attendance, Follow Ups, Prayer Requests, Volunteer Application, Spiritual Gifts, Small Group Information, Personal Picture, and Family Picture options).
  3. A new (Gift Analysis) function is now available to analyze your giving information for a month, including a Giving Unit total for the month by dollar range, how many gifts were given, how many Giving Units are also members, and/or in small groups, etc. There's also a tab to determine who hasn't given anything in x number of weeks, which can be used to create Follow Ups to see if they may be in a crisis or need other pastoral care. Other tabs are available to show the detail behind each of the totals, where you can <double-click> a name and see all of their giving for the year.
  4. The new "Attendance By Person" report is now available for those tracking attendance by person for a given Attendance Type (Note: the Attendance Type must have been created with the "Keep Attendance By Person" box checked in order to keep attendance for each person.) You can optionally create follow ups for anyone who has been absent x number of times as well.
  5. A new button under "My Info:" can be used to change your password at any time.
  6. A new (Spiritual Gifts Search) function is now available to find everyone with a particular spiritual gift or gift mix, as defined by the curriculum you've chosen for your organization. An example is show me everyone with the gift of "Leadership" who also has the gift of "Shepherding". The list sorts by a score calculated based upon the person's gift mix, and also shows personality information. Simply <double-click> a name to see their respective "Spiritual Gifts" screen.
  7. The "Labels" functions have been re-organized. In addition, if you want to load all of the names for a ministry group, you can now specify whether you want to see the parent(s) name (if available) or "To The Parent(s) Of: xxxxxxxx". This function no longer gives an error either.
  8. The (Gifts) function no longer gives you an error when you want to split a gift among multiple Gift Categories.
  9. The logic to fill the Parent(s) Names fields has been adjusted to not fill the field when more than two names are linked to the household with the "Household Label" box checked. Also, reports showing the Parent(s) Names will show blank if that person's "Household Label" box is checked, since the assumption is they are an adult and the Parent(s) Names are irrelevant for that report.
  10. The (Reports) function has been streamlined to ask whether you want to view, print or send the report to a text file only once, even if a pop-up screen appears asking for report parameters.
  11. Numerous other cosmetic changes and corrections have been made throughout the system to enhance your experience with SeekerWorks™.

SeekerWorksSetup2006-2-1.exe included the following enhancements and fixes:

  1. All (Show Map) buttons now use maps.yahoo.com instead of mapquest.com, since mapquest.com expects you to purchase a license for commercial purposes.
  2. All screens asking for a date will no longer cause an abend when an invalid date is typed into a date field. This includes lists where you can re-position the list based upon the date provided.
  3. On the "Update A Household" screen you can now click the (Activate All) button to reactivate "Inactive" names in the household or the (Inactivate All) button to inactivate all of the names linked to the household.
  4. The "Gift Categories" function now lets you rename the category, which changes all of the gifts and totals linked to it to the new category, as long as the new category does not already exist.
  5. The "Gifts" function now has an (Erase) button to remove giving totals with no gifts linked to them. It also lets you change the Gift Date and/or the Attendance Type at any time, as long as the new Date/Type combination does not already exist, as well as showing the number of gifts linked to the current Gift Date/ Attendance Type combination.
  6. The "Attendance Totals" function now lets you change the Event Date and/or the Attendance Type at any time, as long as the new Date/Type combination does not already exist. This includes the Attendance Types set up with the "Keep Attendance By Person" box checked on the "Attendance Types/Groups" screen.
  7. The "Small Groups" screen now has a (Print) button to view and/or print the structure of the small group (Small Group by Coach within Division).
  8. A "Update A Name/Address" screen now has new (Print) button to print the "Personal Information" report for one page that contains all of the person's information from that screen, including their picture (if previously loaded), small group links, volunteer assignments, and/or class/seminar roster links.
  9. The "Update A Name/Address" screen also has working (Attendance...), (Follow Ups...) and (Prayer Req...) buttons to show you any attendance information that exists for them, any Follow Ups (Ticklers) they have initiated, and any Prayer Requests they may have made, whether they're currently active or not.
  10. The problems with the "Classes/Seminars" function have been corrected. Please see the example in the sample database for assistance in using this function (at least until there is help text for it).
  11. When you view or print the "Attendance For: <Class/Seminar Name>" report, you can also create Follow Ups (Ticklers) for anyone who has missed x consecutive sessions of the class, with x defined on the "Add/Update A Class/Seminar" screen.
  12. When you view or print the "Attendance For: <Small Group Name>" report, you can also create Follow Ups (Ticklers) for anyone who has missed x consecutive sessions of the small group, with x defined on the "Small Group Divisions" screen.
  13. You can now load a picture for each Scheduled Class/Seminar using the (Picture...) button.
  14. You can now load a picture for each Ministry (via the "Volunteers" function) using the (Picture...) button.
  15. Whenever you're on a screen that loads a picture from your computer into the database, the program remembers the last folder you loaded a picture from and automatically puts you into that folder when you want to load another picture.
  16. Two new reports (the "Pictures By Family (1/8th page)" and "Pictures By Individual (1/8th page)" reports) are available if you want to print a pictorial directory in a booklet form with 4 pictures per half page. If you print duplexed also, you can add a cover and staple the booklets in the middle for your own directory!
  17. The "Security - Functions" screen now has a (Clone) button. This button will change the TO User's functional security settings to those of the FROM User.
  18. The Sample Database now has 2006 testing data.

SeekerWorksSetup2006-1-2.exe included the following enhancements and fixes:

  1. Small Groups can now be grouped by Division. This allows you to rename your small group ministry using only one Division, or segregate groups from each other. All reports are also Division sensitive.
  2. A new Small Group Attendance report is available to show who was present when, with totals by group, coach and/or division.
  3. A new Small Group Sign-In Sheet report is available to ease the process of recording attendance for small group meetings.
  4. Each Small Group can now be linked to a picture of the leader(s).
  5. A new Small Group Flyer report now shows the picture of each small group leader as well as information about the group (i.e., current topic, meeting date/ time/ location, etc.)
  6. A new Classes/Seminars Attendance report is available to show who was present when, with totals for each scheduling of a class, as well as totals for the class.
  7. A new Classes/Seminars Sign-In Sheet report is available to ease the process of recording attendance for session of a class or seminar.
  8. The To-Do List screen now has an option to filter out all Completed tasks (the default) or to show every task, regardless of status. It also includes a (Print) button to print the To-Do List report for a user.
  9. A new To-Do List report is available to show all tasks for a user and/or all uncompleted tasks for a user.

SeekerWorksSetup2006-1-1.exe included the following enhancements and fixes:

  1. SeekerWorks™ now imports the 'Full Membership List' report and the 'Contributions Detail List' report from Shelby Systems.
  2. The (Giving Units) function now includes an option to MERGE two Giving Units together, in case a duplicate is added by mistake.
  3. The (Giving Units) function also includes a new button (Giving Totals) to show giving activity for the Giving Unit if the user can access the (Totals By Giving Unit) function.
  4. The (Giving Units) function now includes an option to mark the Giving Unit as Inactive and also suppress that Giving Unit from the list when the 'Exclude Inactive Giving Units' checkbox is selected.
  5. The (Names/Addresses) function now includes an option to MERGE two Names together, in case a duplicate is added by mistake.
  6. The (Names/Addresses) function now includes an option to choose who the person's parents are, instead of using up to two names linked to the same Household ID marked as "Household Label" (the default). This can also be used for adults (see the {Personal} tab for more).
  7. The Auto-Key feature of the (Names/Addresses) function has been fixed.
  8. The (Attendance Totals) function, when the Attendance Type is set up to "Use Ministry Groups Instead", can now accommodate attendance by person for up to 5,000 names (instead of 1,000).
  9. The (Gifts) function now includes the option to record giving by Attendance Type. It also provides a box to indicate the deposit date separately from the date of the gift(s). The Attendance Type can now be used to group attendance totals with giving totals for the same Attendance Type (e.g., '9:00 a.m. Service' vs. '11:00 a.m. Service').
  10. The (Options) function now includes a button to create another SeekerWorks™ database. Once created, a screen appears prior to the logon screen to choose the database you want to work with. You can create up to 10 unique databases, each with their own security settings.
  11. The (Options) function also includes a new button to select a network directory that can be used to automatically install future releases of SeekerWorks™. In the future, if you save the SeekerWorksSetupYYYY-Q-R.exe program into this directory (YYYY=Year, Q=Quarter, R=Release), then install SeekerWorks™ on one computer, any other computer using SeekerWorks™ on your network will detect a new version is available and automatically initiate the install on that computer. This simplifies the job of upgrading all copies of SeekerWorks™ by a network administrator in a network environment.

SeekerWorksSetup2005-4-2.exe included the following enhancements and fixes:

  1. SeekerWorks™ now supports international address and telephone formats for our friends in Canada, Australia and the UK, including rearranging city, state and postal code combinations. More information will be available soon.
  2. SeekerWorks™ can now trigger Follow Up Paths based upon new names in a particular Ministry Group, using the "Maintain The Ministry Group List" screen. Each group can trigger it's own path, creating follow ups for the person(s) responsible for that Ministry Group, instead of only having two path options (New Adult or New Youth). The Follow Up Path trigger "New Name" is still available, but triggering New Adult or New Youth paths separately are not.
  3. Due to the confusion we've created trying to unlink a name or address (household) using the <Delete> key after you select the (...) button, SeekerWorks™ now asks you if you want to unlink that name after you click the (...) button and then click (cancel) on the "Select A Name" screen. You can still use the <Delete> key as normal, but now also answer (Yes) to unlink the name.
  4. The (Gifts) process has been streamlined to minimize the number of keystrokes needed to put in a gift.
  5. The "Update A Name/Address (Adult)" and "Update A Name/Address (Youth)" screens have been combined using a page frame containing four tabs ({Address/Phone}, {Personal}, {Work/School}, and {Church}). Now, all of the fields are available for every name, instead of depending on the Ministry Group they were in. This allows room for new requested fields and information, such as a work email address separate from a personal email address.
  6. Each household can now have two associated addresses, such as an address where the household lives and a different mailing address. If Address-2 is the mailing address, simply check the "This is the mailing address" box and all screens will show the mailing address instead of whatever is in Address-1.
  7. An "Un-read" indicator has been added to the messages screen, so it will pop-up when a unread message is detected for the current user. It used to pop-up as long as there were messages on the {Current} tab. Now, once the message has been reviewed, the screen will stop interrupting the user every five minutes.
  8. The "Small Group Summary" report now shows the current topic for each group and suppresses the "Coach" information if no coach has been linked to the group.
  9. An (Erase) button has been added to the "List Of Campaigns" screen, as well as the "Update Campaign Team Information" screen.
  10. The (Erase) button on the "List Of Names" screen no longer gives an error when trying to erase a name.
  11. The "Pictures By Family (half-page)" now shows real pictures, instead of those from the demo database, and is sorted by last name and first name.
  12. The "Sign-In Sheet By Last Name, First Name" and "Sign-In Sheet By First Name, Last Name" reports show the correct information now.

SeekerWorksSetup2005-4-1.exe included the following enhancements and fixes:

  1. The Classes/Seminars module is now available. Create a Class/Seminar, then schedule the first meeting and link students to the class roster.
  2. Attendance by person is now available. This can be for Classes/Seminars, Small Groups and even worship service Attendance Totals (as requested).
  3. The Import feature now accepts <TAB> delimited .txt files in the same format as the Outlook Contacts.csv export from Outlook, which you can create and "save as" with Excel, etc. (as requested).
  4. You can now add an email address to User-ID information and email new Follow Ups (Ticklers) to the person without requiring them to logon to SeekerWorks to get them. Of course, they can still logon and update their Follow Up (Tickler) File.
  5. The number of Attendance Groups for each Attendance Type has been expanded from 10 to 14 in order to accommodate Attendance by person (summarized by Ministry Group, which equate to the Attendance Group).
  6. A new Follow Up (Tickler) Path Trigger has been added to initiate a new "Dismissed" Follow Up Path when a user dismisses a Follow Up on an Assimilation-triggered Path. This path was added to provide the capability to notify a user when a name or household may need to be purged from the database.
  7. The Follow Up (Tickler) List report now includes mailing address and parent(s) name(s) if the person linked is not an Adult (as requested).
  8. All reports no longer show a hyphen on the ZIP Codes when the ZIP+4 code is not included (as requested).
  9. You can now add a negative amount on the Gifts "Split Screen" to offset an original gift when a check bounces (it wouldn't allow all amounts to total to zero before).
  10. International Dates are now supported for our friends in Canada and Australia.
  11. You can specify the Date to print on the Sign-In Sheet reports (as requested).
  12. The Address has been added to the student roster reports (as requested).
  13. The Ministry Group Merge logic has been fixed on the Ministry Groups screen.
